Frank RohdeChairman and Chief Executive Officer
As President and Chief Executive Officer, Frank leads the company's vision to materially improve the financial and operational performance of companies through the use of best-in-class pricing and profitability management. Frank joined Nomis Solutions in 2005 as VP of Sales and Marketing and was responsible for the market development and initial customer acquisition efforts of the company.
Frank brings 15 years of financial services domain expertise to the company. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Enterprise Decision Management at Fair Isaac Corporation (NYSE: FIC), where he was responsible for development and marketing of optimization solutions to the financial services industry. Prior to Fair Isaac, Frank was Vice President of Product Development for eCoverage, an online insurance company, as well as an Associate in the Financial Services practice at Mercer Management Consulting.
Over the past 10 years, he has worked with a range of financial services clients on product development, marketing, and pricing problems, including Allianz USA, Bank One, MBNA, Juniper Bank, Fleet Bank, GE Capital, Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of America, and others. Frank is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and has published on the topics of decision management and optimization in several trade publications including Credit Risk International and Harvard Business Review.
Frank graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with concentrations in finance and management.
Dr. Robert L. PhillipsFounder, Chief Science Officer & Vice President, Product Management
Dr. Phillips founded Nomis Solutions in 2002 to help financial services firms use pricing analytics, optimization and execution to improve profits and market share by better understanding of how customer preferences impact product and portfolio performance. Dr. Phillips is responsible for ensuring that Nomis Solutions' analytics continue to be best-in-class and generate the highest level of value to customers. He is also responsible for leading Nomis Solutions' cutting-edge research and development efforts.
Before founding Nomis, Dr. Phillips served as Chief Technology Officer of Manugistics where he was the key visionary for Manugistics' Pricing and Revenue Optimization and Enterprise Profit Optimization solutions. Prior to that, he was Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Talus Solutions, at the time, the world's largest pricing and revenue optimization company. Over the past 15 years, Dr. Phillips has helped leading companies optimize price and revenue within a wide variety of industries including airlines, rental cars, hotels, automotive, electric power, freight transportation, and manufacturing.
Dr. Phillips is a lecturer at Stanford University Business School and served as a visiting professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He is a frequent invited lecturer at forums such as the CBA Automotive Finance Conference, the Credit Scoring and Credit Control Conference and INFORMS. He is the author of the book Pricing and Revenue Optimization and has published widely in such journals as the Risk Management Association Journal, Management Science, and Mathematical Programming. He is a senior editor of the journal Production and Operations Management Systems and an associate editor of Operations Research.
He received his doctorate in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford University and holds undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Economics from Washington State University.
Bob ToddDirector
Bob Todd is an entrepreneur with 20 years of experience with technology companies. He has founded or been a founding investor/director in several startups, two of which are now public companies with combined annual sales in excess of $6 billion.
Bob's operating experience includes 10 years as a founder and CEO of Flextronics, and five years as the CEO of CAS, Inc. Bob has an M.B.A. from Stanford University and an A.B. in statistics from Princeton University.
David HornikDirector
David joined August Capital (www.augustcap.com) in 2000. Prior to joining August Capital, David was an intellectual property and corporate attorney at Venture Law Group, Cravath Swaine & Moore, and Perkins Coie LLP.
In his legal practice, David represented high tech startups in all aspects of their formation, financing and operations including Yahoo!, When.com (AOL), Evite (Ticketmaster), Topica, Sonique (Terra Lycos), Pure Payments (Excite@Home), BuyDirect (Beyond.com), and Ofoto (Kodak). David earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford and his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Scott FriendManaging Director
Experience: Mr. Scott Friend is a Managing Director at Bain Capital Ventures. He joined the company in 2006. Prior to working at Bain Capital Ventures, Mr. Friend was Chairman of the Executive Advisory Board and VP of Marketing & Science for Oracle Retail. Prior to its acquisition by Oracle in 2005, Mr. Friend was the President and co-founder of ProfitLogic, a Bain Capital portfolio company. In 2005, Mr. Friend was named a winner of the Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year Award" in New England. Prior to ProfitLogic, Mr. Friend held positions at Learning Sciences Corporation, The Parthenon Group, and IBM.
Education: Mr. Friend received an MBA, with distinction, from Harvard Business School and a BA, magna cum laude, in Electrical Engineering and Economics from Brown University.
Jeffrey SchwartzManaging Director
Experience: Mr. Jeffrey Schwartz is a Managing Director and Founding Partner at Bain Capital Ventures. Prior to joining Bain Capital Ventures in 2000, Mr. Schwartz worked at Wellington Management company, where he was a portfolio manager for several public equities funds. He also served in the Equity Capital Markers Group of Merrill Lynch. In addition to his firm and portfolio company responsibilities, Mr. Schwartz serves on the Board of MetroLacrosse and the Investment Committee of the Noble and Greenough School. He also coaches several youth athletic teams.
Education: Mr. Schwartz received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College.
Steven M. Mankoff Director
Steven Mankoff currently serves on the Boards of ConvergeOne, Nomis Solutions and SignalDemand and is an advisor to CodeObjects, Genstar Capital, Neuvora, and NorthStar.
Previously, Steve worked as Senior Vice President Global and Technical Services at Siebel Systems, Inc. which was acquired by Oracle Corporation in 2006. Steve was a member of the Founder's Circle of first employees and the Siebel executive management team. As Senior Vice President Global and Technical Services, Steve was responsible for Siebel's global Expert Services, Education, Professional Services, Quality Engineering, Technical Account Management, Technical Support, Customer Satisfaction and Offshore Development programs. The combined organization had over 2,100 employees, over 700 dedicated contractors and annual revenue approaching $1 billion. Prior to Siebel, he held various product, marketing, and sales management positions at several software companies including Oracle.
He earned a Master of Science in Management from the MIT Sloan School and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Brown University.
