Dennis joined Nomis Solutions in 2003 to lead the rapid growth and expansion of the company in both the US and global financial markets. He leads the company's vision to enable financial services companies to adopt a Profit-based Pricing approach to increase profits without sacrificing revenues or market share.
Dennis has had 35 years of success in the high tech industry by focusing on delivering superior technology and excellent customer service to generate sales. Prior to joining Nomis Solutions, Dennis led a turnaround as the CEO of CascadeWorks, where he improved the company's performance and orchestrated a merger with Elance Corporation.
Before that, Dennis was the CEO at Supplybase, a start up software company, where he ensured products were meeting customer needs, built a seasoned management team, and positioned the company to be a sustainable and profitable enterprise. Under Dennis' direction, the company was acquired by i2 Technologies for $390 million.
A third of Dennis' career was spent at Flextronics (NASDAQ: FLEX), where he held leadership positions across the Americas, Europe and Far East, culminating in the role of Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In this role, he helped refocus and grow the company from $40 million in revenues to a $2 billion enterprise that included an IPO.
Prior to that, Dennis was the Vice President of sales and service at Zehntel for seven years where he grew sales from $4 million to $60 million by winning major new customers. His career was launched at IBM, where he spent 5 years exceeding his sales goals.
Dennis earned Bachelors of Arts degree at San Jose State University and holds a Master's degree from St. Patrick's Theolgaite.
Dr. Robert L. PhillipsFounder, Chief Science Officer & Vice President, Research & Development
Dr. Phillips founded Nomis Solutions in 2002 to help financial services firms use pricing analytics, optimization and execution to improve profits and market share by better understanding of how customer preferences impact product and portfolio performance. Dr. Phillips is responsible for ensuring that Nomis Solutions' analytics continue to be best-in-class and generate the highest level of value to customers. He is also responsible for leading Nomis Solutions’ cutting-edge research and development efforts.
Before founding Nomis, Dr. Phillips served as Chief Technology Officer of Manugistics where he was the key visionary for Manugistics' Pricing and Revenue Optimization and Enterprise Profit Optimization solutions. Prior to that, he was Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Talus Solutions, at the time, the world's largest pricing and revenue optimization company. Over the past 15 years, Dr. Phillips has helped leading companies optimize price and revenue within a wide variety of industries including airlines, rental cars, hotels, automotive, electric power, freight transportation, and manufacturing.
Dr. Phillips is a lecturer at Stanford University Business School and served as a visiting professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He is a frequent speaker at industry events such as the CBA Auto Finance Conference, the CBA Home Equity Conference, the Credit Scoring & Credit Control Conference and INFORMS. He is the author of the award-winning book Pricing and Revenue Optimization and has published widely in such journals as the Risk Management Association Journal, Management Science, and Mathematical Programming. He is a senior editor of the journal Production and Operations Management Systems and an associate editor of Operations Research.
He received his doctorate in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford University and holds undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Economics from Washington State University.
Matthew KuckukVice President of Global Services
As Vice President of Global Services, Matthew is responsible for building and leading Nomis Solutions’ world-class professional services organization, ensuring that customers successfully implement and use the Nomis Price Optimizer to achieve corporate goals. He brings 25 years of Professional Services management and Operations Research experience to Nomis Solutions, and has a strong history of developing and deploying best practices for consulting and system integration services to the financial services industry.
Prior to joining Nomis, Matthew served as Vice President, Worldwide Professional Services at Actuate Corporation (NASDAQ:ACTU), a leader in performance management, business intelligence and enterprise reporting applications. At Actuate, Matthew was responsible for global management of Professional Services. Before Actuate, Matthew was Vice President, Professional Services at MarketFirst Software, Inc. Prior to that, he was with the large system integration firm American Management Systems responsible for Financial Industry practices, and a Senior Project Manager with Fair Isaac Corporation (NYSE:FIC).
Matthew earned a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering from University of Wisconsin and holds a Masters of Science in Engineering, with a specialization in Operations Research, from the University of California at Berkeley.
Bharath KumarVice President of Product Development
Bharath joined Nomis Solutions in 2003 to lead product development. In this role, Bharath is responsible for designing and bringing to market Nomis' award-wining Nomis Price Optimizer Suite of solutions.
He has an extensive background in software development and has held leadership positions at several Silicon Valley technology companies. His previous role was Vice President of Product Development of i2 Technologies' SRM Business Unit, where he managed the global engineering organization.
Prior to that, Bharath was the Vice President of Product Management at RightWorks and played a major role in defining product direction and strategy. In addition, he has held technical positions at Oracle, Sun Microsystems and LSI Logic.
Bharath has an MS in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
Karen BealeVice President of Sales
Karen Beale joined Nomis Solutions in 2007 as Vice President of Sales. To this position, Karen brings over 15 years of global financial services experience. She will oversee the expansion of Nomis Solutions’ global sales organization to meet the growing demand for Nomis Solutions’ award-winning suite of solutions. She will also ensure the suite is evolving to meet the needs of new customers.
Prior to joining Nomis Solutions, Karen held various leadership roles within Fair Isaac Corporation (NYSE:FIC), the most recent as Vice President, ICN Leader, Large North American Banks. In this role, Karen led the client teams responsible for customer satisfaction and new business development across 20 of the largest North American Financial Institutions and had responsibility for a large multi-million dollar P&L business unit. With almost a decade of experience at Fair Isaac, including running Global Analytic Sales, Karen is well positioned to guide Nomis Solutions into the expanding market for Profit-based Pricing solutions within the financial services industry. Previous to working with Fair Isaac, Karen led Strategic Accounts for Experian Business Information in the UK, part of Experian Group (LSE:EXPN).
Karen earned her B.A, with honors, in Business and French at Kingston University in London.
Frank RohdeManaging Director (Europe), Chief Marketing Officer & Vice President of
Product Management
Frank is responsible for leading Nomis Solutions’ product management in developing world-class solutions that harness the power of analytics, optimization and execution. He is also responsible for global marketing and corporate development. Frank joined Nomis Solutions in 2005 as VP of Sales and Marketing and was responsible for the market development and initial customer acquisition efforts of the company.
Frank brings 15 years of financial services domain expertise to the company. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Enterprise Decision Management at Fair Isaac Corporation (NYSE: FIC), where he was responsible for development and marketing of optimization solutions to the financial services industry. Prior to Fair Isaac, Frank was Vice President of Product Development for eCoverage, an online insurance company, as well as an Associate in the Financial Services practice at Mercer Management Consulting.
Over the past 10 years, he has worked with a range of financial services clients on product development, marketing, and pricing problems, including Allianz USA, Bank One, MBNA, Juniper Bank, Fleet Bank, GE Capital, Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of America, and others. Frank is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and has published on the topics of decision management and optimization in several trade publications including Credit Risk International and Harvard Business Review.
Frank graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with concentrations in finance and management.
Todd SpartzVice President and Chief Financial Officer
As the Chief Financial Officer, Todd drives the financial strategy at Nomis Solutions. Todd’s expertise in revenue and performance management will help support the company’s rapid growth as the rate of adoption of its Nomis Price Optimizer solution in the financial services industry continues to escalate.
Before joining Nomis Solutions, Todd most recently worked at Openwave Systems (NASDAQ:OPWV) as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller where he successfully managed the finances of this multimillion dollar, global organization. Before that, Todd was Vice President of Finance with Metareward; a subsidiary of Experian (LSE:EXPN.L), focused on online customer acquisition programs for top brand advertisers. Rounding out Todd’s extensive experience in financial operations, planning and accounting are his previous roles with technology leaders Oblix, acquired by Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL), Extreme Networks (NASDAQ:EXTR), Aspect Telecommunications (formerly NASDAQ:ASPT), and Applied Materials (NASDAQ:AMAT).
Todd earned a BSC in Accounting from the College of Commerce at DePaul University and holds an MBA in Finance from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. Todd is a licensed CPA in California.
